My friend wants to build his first system, and I'm telling him AMD. He has $1600-$2000 to spend, And wants a complete system (Monitor, everything)

Here's what he says:
256ram
tha purdy geforce2 64mb
35-54gb hd (7200)
1gb+ cpu

yea, that stuff + monitor, speakers, sound, mouse, dvd drive... ill just use this keyboard and ill take the floppy drive from my 166mhz comp, lol

Please recommend a good system for that price, Thanks.

i would say the same as shiznut but switch out the abit board for the msi k7t pro2a. he laso forgot a hdd. I would recommend the ibm desktar 45gxp ( i think thats what it is). very fast:D

*EDIT* you could also add a plextor 12x10x32x cdrw drive for about 200 more if he needs that, still keeping him under 2000

I would too switch the Abit mobo to the MSI K7T Pro2A. I recommend waiting for Maxtor, Seagate or IBM's 20GB platter drives to arrive.
