This question is kind of irrelevant. MicroSoft has already taken over the world of Personal Computing. They just have to expand their control a bit. lol

The only reason you can't think of Google as a serious competitor yet is because their recent contributions (so far) have been small (yet still invaluable). GMail, Google Maps, Google Local, Google News...I find myself using each item at least once a day (if not much more). If Google were to tackle something like an OS or business software, it would have instant credibility and a loyal userbase.

Google is really the only company with the talent and credibility to pose any threat to Microsoft (if they choose to do so).

Toyota is undoubtedly going to rule the roost in the automotive industry for the next 5 years (at least). EA...? They are big but the gaming industry can survive without them (and would probably be better for it). WalMart is going to grow for a while yet, no surprise.

I don't know what I would do without Google, it has the answers to almost all my questions.
