CompUSA- always had great customer service whenever I go....

Verizon Wireless- great cell phones and service, their overages suck but thats what I get for not paying attention to my minutes...I can be in our underground parking garage at work(~50feet underground) and still have 2-3 bars of service....plus I get a 20% discount from my work if I have a verizon phone

Detroit Medical Center Corporation- For giving me a great job and opportunity in life and for being a leader in quality, fast, clean and caring health care

Mongolian BBQ- for the best service and quality of food, and sheer uniqueness

Samsung- for making my phone so kick ass-(A950) and for quality hard drives

1) My local bike shops - They've always treated me with respect, and their staffs take the time to talk with all their customers about what they need, whether they're spending $500 or $2500 on a bike.

2) Meijer - my local grocery store. It's owned by a Michigan-based family and I've always had pleasant interactions with their staff members, whether it's a high school kid pushing carts in the parking lot or a manager who lets me substitute another product for a sale item that's out of stock.

3) My local Honda dealer - I used to be wholeheartedly against taking a car to the dealer for service, but when I got my Honda from 'em, the staff was so friendly and accomodating that I resolved to support them in the future. Their service department is unlike any I've ever known at a dealer: friendly, clean, curteous and their time estimates are accurate. Plus, they send out great service coupons. :)

Albertsons and Target for general living items. They're both clean and well organized.

Ack - I hate Meijer. Long lines at checkout all hours of the day, incompetent employees, sale items never in stock (and never been able to get them to do substitutions), stuff never rings up right, and my biggest gripe is just how they lay the damn store out. Aisles are too narrow and there is always some 400lb whale in a fvcking motorized shopping cart blocking the whole damn isle as she compares brands of cookies.

/rant (Go Wal*Mart)

I buy a product based on cost and quality. I may even pay more money, if I dont have to walk 10 miles around a huge store. The Parking, walking around the parking lot, the fighting the crowds, the waiting in line, everything is a factor with me. It is too simplistic to say Wal-mart is evil or I dont like Sears.

For TV's I like Sears, because it seems I get a good deal with not many hassles and I can pick it up at the pick-up point. I dont have to drag it onto a cart or carry it around the store. I like their service. You just get your receipt and go to customer pick-up and pull your car or truck right up to the door. They usually have good prices and good variety and selection.

Computers- I like no retail store for computers because I usually build it myself and order things on-line.

Computer Monitors and Printers I sometimes buy at a store. I just like to see it working before I commit money to it. Bulky items are often better to just buy at a store. I like to see a monitor before I buy it. No review can do for a monitor, I have to see some display on it before I know if I like it.

There are not many stores I like. I am fat and no one ever has my size in a store anyway, so I hate all stores for clothes. It seems stores by lines of clothes and if they have 3XL sizes they are almost always all sold out. They just have failed to realize there are more fat people now and we need clothes too. So I often wait for sales or for Famous Barr to have a sale or just order it for pick-up at J.C. Penneys.

I like to buy things on-line if I can get a good deal and avoid going to a store.

www.amazon.com sometimes has deals on all kinds of things from Computer add-ons or stuff like DVD Players. I also still like to go to best buy and sams club.

Circuit City is not worth visiting.

MPX - a norwegian online computer component store, great service, not the cheapest but extremely reliable.

Sakana Sushi - Prinsens Gate, Oslo. Great cheap sushi and they always remember me.

Ikea - I loath most of their products but without their low cost to decent quality pricing I wouldn't have a lot of furniture.

Seimens - Started a trend with the cool kitchen ware but can't hold that aginst it, its quality stuff.

Tivoli Audio - Same reason as above, people are copying their model one... why? Because its great design.

The only one that comes to mind is Verizon Wireless because they've made the situation right a few times... went out of their way... gave me credit when they didn't have to...

I can't remember another company that's done that.
