what command gives the fullest format for my hard disk?

what format command will format my hd to the utmost. i normally just use "format c:" sometimes i use "format c: \q \u" and i know there is one more, but i cannot remember it. let me know. thanks!

Try:

"format x: /u /c" without the quotes, where x is the drive you want to format. Wah is right also, for the fullest, Fdisk and then Format.

You could also Low Level Format, but I'd not do that unless you have irreparable hard drive errors that Fdisk and Format won't take care of. You must go to the manufacturers site of your hard drive and download an utility to Low Level Format the disk.

You mentioned in the first post you sometimes used the /q tag. /Q means Quick format, just deletes all files and starts a new FAT.
