Without even being cheap and using an associate character to one of the existing franchises like X Men, DC hasn't completed their "trinity" yet - Wonder Woman. Then you can finish off the Justice League: Green Arrow is in development, Aquaman nearly had a TV show but no sign of a movie, Flash has been batted around for a couple years now, Green Lantern, Hawkman and/or Hawkgirl.
Then there's the secondary imprints from Marvel and DC. Powers from Marvel's ICON line or various Wildstorm properties from DC.
Then the second-tier publishers like Image (the aforementioned Walking Dead), Dark Horse (who published 300, Sin City, & Hellboy), or Devil's Due.
