Hey guys, I just read some AT Webnews and according to The Register we can expect a major product announcement from AMD on May 15th--most likely concerning features/availability of the new Palomino chip (info on all 3 flavors, with only server and mobile launching in the near future.)

Now, unfortunately, I am way behind when it comes to the new chipsets coming out. I understand most current KT133a boards and upcoming KT266 boards should all be Palomino-compatible given the 3-phase power thingamajig. In light of the various issues concerning VIA's chipsets, however, I wouldn't consider buying a KT266 board in the near future. For some reason I just don't trust their new hub architecture and I would like to wait a few months before I jump in. I'm also concerned about WinXP compatability issues and how VIA will resolve this with Microsoft before the new OS launches.

Currently, I only know of Socket A chipsets from SiS and nVidia coming out in the near future--and I hear both of these are targeted as microATX integrated-video solutions. On the server side, there's the 760MP but I'm not looking into a dual-Athlon system (yet.) Is there anything else on the horizon?
