What colors go with Coral and Black for a corsage?

BigJ

Lifer
Yeah, proms a week away, and I am severely handicapped when it comes to colors that go with each other.

What kind of corsage (like the colors and stuff) go with
A) a dress thats predominantly black with some coral, or
B) a dress thats predominantly coral with some black
(All she told me was Coral and Black, forgot to ask which was the dominant color)

Me being partially color-blind really doesn't help with this situation either if I were to go and visually pick something out.

EDIT: Here's a link to the different colors of Coral: Coral
I guess its a different kind of reddish or pinkish or peach color. Couldn't have just gone with all black or something, had to get Coral!

OMG, did you use "coral" to describe a color?!

LMAO, I didn't even see the dress, I go up to her in our programming class:
Me: "Yo Olivia, what color's your dress"
Her: "Black and Coral"
Me: "Did you just say coral"
Her: "Yea, coral, haven't you ever heard of it before"
Me: "Oh Yea, now I remember...my uhh...sister has a coral shirt"

Coral is a very pretty color and the black is a classic match.
You need to ask her if the dress is in the pink or peach coral tones. Go to a florist and take a look at the different colors of flowers they have available (seasonal differences). You should be able to find a tone of rose to match up.
I think white Magnolia's are pretty spectacular and with their dark green foilage, will hold thier own against the dress. Orchids are a nice choice too. 🙂
Good Luck!

Thanks 🙂

So:
1) Pink or peach coral
2) Would white with ribbons match(one of my mothers friends said something along those lines)?
3) Magnolias and orchids ehhh....I'll have to have me a look see.

Luckily, my sister is back from college this week. She's gonna have to go with me to the florist.

had my prom two weeks ago. go with orchids. word of advice-- if you want an rare color, they're gonna have to special order it, so do it soon!

also. there are some corsages that will match any color. ie. white orchids/roses. but i think she'll appreciate it more if you spent the time/effort to get her something more original. make sure you ask your date which color is dominant--dont wanna screw up the color matching. florist will have recommendations if you ask--maybe even coral orchids. also let her know what color you got so your boutineer will match.
