what color shirt to wear on an interview?

I have been going on interviews wearing a black suit and blue button down shirt and blue tie. Should I be wearing a white shirt instead of a blue one?

I usually wear my black suit, my blue shirt and a blue metalic power tie... but... I'm usually trying to radiate the power/confidence ambiance...

YMMV.. it should work with your personality

Black is agressive, so if it's in an agressive field of work, I say go for it. If you're interviewing to be an elementary school teacher, go with something brighter and more relaxed maybe.

I've read somewhere that blue is the way to go. Apparently that colour is supposed to instill (sp?) a feeling of comfort and trust.

Nothing wrong with that combo. I have a black pinstripe suit and it goes really well with a blue shirt.

Just get rid of those sneakers and you'll be all set! 😉

Why not? You get a good haircut, put in for a nice clean shave and walk in there like you are God's gift to the organization and they'll be lost without you 🙂

Might look like you are going to a funeral though.

Just wear your Halo 2 t-shirt underneath your coat and report back here.

White shirt with a solid color suit. Your tie should not jump out either; think conservative.

Make sure you wear dark socks, I don't know how many people I've seen screw this up.

Wear very limited jewelry (wedding ring is OK). If you have earrings, necklaces, rings, etc., leave them at home.

Neatly combed, managed hair. A hairstyle says a lot, many people screw this one up.

Heck, you should have your hair cut a few days before the interview.

I'd go with white and black. It's kinda the standard. If you're interviewing for some job 'out there' such as becoming a porn actor go with the pink that'll get them hyped right away.

Blue with black? Personally, I wouldn't wear that. I'd wear a white, grey, red...basically any other color other than brown.

depends really on the tie. A tie will usually either make or break an outfit.
