That would be a fantastic price for a 2010 (which retail for $4300). If the picture accurately represents the bike, that's a 2008 or 2009. The 2010 Red looks drastically different (mix of red and black with some tribal looking graphics).

At that price, I'd assume that's a 2009 leftover (and is still a great price for it).

White, but that's just me. Argh, why did you have to post this. I'm on the fence of getting this bike or just embracing new tech and getting the all electric Brammo Empulse when it's released next year (pre-order is in). How much do the 08+ 250R's run for now-a-days?

If the price is too good to be true, then it probably is. Be weary if the seller asks for payment through some shady method. Then again I think I have heard of these guys before.

When it comes to motorcycles, I prefer the brightest color I can get. To many idiots on the road, so anything that helps get their attention is a plus.

Having seen the green and blue in person, I'm partial to the blue.

That was my first thought but checking Kawasaki's site they definitely have that red as an '10 color. The black exhausted tipped me off that it wasn't an '09. Also Black, Navy Blue, and SE White will be the '11 colors.

Btw: My vote is blue

I've never had color factor into my insurance quotes, and especially with a 250cc bike I doubt it will make any difference. Insurance companies know that the risky speed demons don't go buying 250cc bikes and that should more than outweigh any color considerations.

size of engine didn't even factor in for me either, a 600cc sport bike was only $10/month for liability. Up from $7/month for a Ninja 250.

Without knowing other information, this is meaningless.

Age? Marital status? Children? Area of the country? Other vehicles with the same insurer? Amount of Liability coverage?

For example, as an unmarried male, 28, clean record, no children, living in Redmond, WA with 50/50/100 liability coverage I pay about $15/month for the liability portion. (Overall, I pay more because I carry full coverage.) Someone who was married would pay less, and someone married with kids would pay still less. Someone living in the middle of Iowa would pay less than I do even if the rest of the information was the same, while someone living in LA would pay more.

People can't just quote $X as the cost of insurance; there are far too many variables.

Also, they obviously did factor in engine size. There's a 42 percent up-charge for the 600cc bike (7 * 1.42 = ~10). You can say that the $3/month isn't a lot, and you're right, but it's still over 42 percent more each month than the cost to keep liability insurance on the 250.

Call your insurance company and get a quote first. I looked at a ninja 500 and they classified it as a sport bike and were going to charge me $2k for a year of insurance. I then quoted a kawasaki versys and got a more reasonable $800 a year insurance for a year full coverage (23 years old). The versys you can find a year old with 500-1000 miles for around $4500.

23, no, no, southeast, no, 25k-50k-25k

my only point is that it's ridiculously cheap. People say ZOMG INSURANCE when you say "600cc sport bike".
Well, that's only true if you finance it and have to get full coverage.

If I had to guess, its probably needs a new tire, or worse. Doesn't hurt to go look at it.

Oh yellow-green is technically the most visible but its fugly.

The majority of the time another motorist will see the color of your bike is if you are outside their window or you're stopped at a stop light. The other times all they see are your headlight or your taillight. Just get the color you want.
