Brown..... not that brown is really a color at all. 😉

And who said straight-up red ROTFL? 😛 (it's closer to dirty-blonde then it is ANY kind of red IMO)

THIS (or something close to it) is "red" hair. 😀

Not 100% certain on the accuracy of the above test.... I can make out the first 5 numbers easily but with the 6th (purple shades) while I can see a pattern I'm not seeing a clear number-shape.

I was pretty confident on the "one" but I must admit my guess would have been 16 not 18.

Of course now that you told me the answer I can sorta make it out. 😉

Been wearing glasses my whole life and FWIW I've never tested as "colorblind" although its actually pretty common in men especially.

I'd say brown, but I can kinda see a bit of red in it, so in different light maybe it does look red.

This is my red hair for comparison:

To my eye your hair is clearly red and the OP's pic is semi-dark brown.

You are however correct ambient light can have a strong influence on perceived color.

Seems accurate to me, I can only easily read 1, 4, and 5. My mom is actually a little color blind too, just not quite as much as me. Mine isn't enough to be functionally impairing, I fail the Ishihara test easily, so when I joined the military, I had a limited range of jobs available until they re-tested me with some kind of machine instead.

And I'd describe the hair in the pic as light brown.

I had to do those every two years as part of my DMV physical.

Fired up the backup PC which has a fully calibrated and much higher color-accuracy 24 inch IPS 10-bit display and can confirm brown with perhaps a touch of dark-grey. (sorry)

Also relevant... on this display I CAN make out the whole number on the 6th/purple image so keep in mind that it may not be your eyes that are "colorblind" but your display!

😉

Too bad 60hz drives me to distraction these days now that I'm adjusted to 165 or I'd use this monitor more. The VA panel on my primary is terrific for gaming but color-accuracy is only so-so.

So, this was her hair a week ago. What about this??View attachment 58762

Identical lighting conditions and camera hardware/settings? Also no significant editing of either image?

Assuming a "yes" to both the second is far more red/auburn.

Also at this juncture I feel that its important, potentially for your continued physical well-being that you mention to the subject of said pics that in BOTH her hair is simply gorgeous! (I suggest you leave out the bit about the grey!)

😛 😉
