Why is everything 'do not bleach' now when it comes to laundry? I have all white towels, all white face clothes, white socks, and white t-shirts....and they all say not to bleach them. I do anyway. I refuse to use regular detergent and cold water on 100% cotton whites. I'm sorry, I just do.

forget bleach... it slowly eats away at the fabric...
Use 1 cup ammonia with every wash... even on colors.

lol.

Just use Oxyclean. That's what you want anyways for true white. Leaves a bit of residue which fluoresces.

Cotton - bleach to your heart's content.
Wool - no
Hemp - bleach until it makes you snorgle
Leather - no
Linen - bleach until the cow's come home, heck, boil it in bleach (really, it gets it super white)
Synthetics - yuck, not for clothes

I claim first use of "snorgle" in a non-fuzzybabybunny thread.
