i wanted to set up a server with my current processor/ram/raptor/dvd-rw so i could play lan games and network to my music/movies and such.

i dont need a server mobo, cause its not going to be like a webserver, just a game server and media host, so whats the best chipset i could use that runs s939?

If you dont need a server mobo, why would you need anything other than a regular chipset ?

server mobo = server chipset
consumer mobo = consumer chipset

With that said, Nvidia chipsets are great with s939 cpu's

If you're talking about HDD and Network speed you should look at a PCI-E RAID controller and a server class Nic like one of Intel's offerings.
