What chipset drivers, etc to install on my new ASUS board?

I've posted this earlier in 'General', but was unable to get any help so I'll try here instead:

Today I received an ASUS P5GD1 Pro motherboard and a P4 540J CPU.

When building Intel based systems in the past, I seem to remember installing the 'Intel Application Accelerator' as well as Intel's chipset drivers.

Looking up Intel Application Accelerator it says that it isn't compatible with the 900 series of chipsets (the P5GD1 board has the 915P chipset).

So what am I looking at installing from this list of downloads for the P5GD1 Pro board and this list for chipset 915? (I'm using WinXP Home on this machine and will be using the on-board sound.)

And in which order?

Thanks for your help!

Even less feedback here than in 'General' :(

Has no one here build an Intel rig recently? Do you all just settle for the drivers that come with the motherboard?

Btw, this is going to be a one SATA disk setup, so I guess I shouldn't install the Intel Application Accelerator for RAID?

Does anyone know how I go about enabling NCQ? I've read that something called AHCI must be enabled prior to OS installation for NCQ to work, and if it isn't, you must reinstall the OS and during that, install AHCI from a floppy? Did I get that right?

Does that mean a floppy with AHCI drivers(?) is the only way to get NCQ, even when installing the OS for the first time, or do I have a 'one shot' chance of enabling AHCI in the BIOS before that first time OS install?

Here's the total setup:

ASUS P5GD1 Pro with 915P chipset
P4 540J 3.2 GHz
2x512Mb PC3200 Geil value RAM
Maxtor Diamondmax 10 200GB SATA harddrive, 8Mb buffer
Pioneer DVR 109
Leadtek PX6800, 256Mb
Antec SLK-2650 BQE

Any help is greatly appreciated!
