Since people are saving money with the ECS K7S5A, what cheap video card do they use with it? Can you get anything decent for $25. If not, aren't you better off going with on-board video?

Usually when I'm building a system using the K7S5A, I often throw the Radeon 7000 in it. It's not a card for gamers or anything but it's a 32mb
card that does the trick. It usually only costs around 30 bucks at newegg.com.

What chipset does the K7S5A use? What are the reqs and what's the rest of the system comprise of? You kind of get what you pay for, a Rad9000 is a decent budget purchase while Rad8500 or Rad9100 are better still. Even a GF3 is a good buy and all things considered cheaply priced, GF3 do have their downsides in non-gaming aspects but what do you want out of the card?

I've thrown basically everything at K7S5A, from PCI S3 Trio and Matrox Millenium, to all kinds of GeForce and Radeon cards and even a rare Kyro.
You choose, the board doesn't hold you back from using any graphics card out there.
Note that PCI cards aren't a good idea, they hog the system intensely enough to make many other things stop working right - like sound replay.

7200 if you want to be able to play older 3D games and newer 3D games at very low graphics settings. 7000 if you don't need 3D.
you could get a gf2 gts for about 40 bucks, check pricewatch, same price is a gf4 mx440 64mb, that might be better, dunno anything about the gf4mx's tho
Personally, I think a V3 or any ATI card has better 2d than a GF2; hence why I recommended the V3 in the first place.
I'd still say the least you should consider is a Rad7500, GF4MX or Rad9000 although the Rad9000PRO, Rad8500LE, Rad8500 and GF4TI4200 are well worth the extra costs IMHO. If you really want cheap cheap cheap then I agree that any Radeon is the way to go, get the fastest that's at the right price for you I have both a Radeon 7200 (32 MB) and Radeon 7000 (64 MB DDR). The 7200 is much faster, and can still play all the latest games - its never held me back. I'd go for a 7200 if you can find one, or a 7500 if not.
If you want an extra cheap, but a still good enough video card, you could go with the Geforce 2mx 32MB. I saw them on sale not long ago for $26, they're nVidia reference cards or something and include both DVI and S-Video outputs, all for $26. I think it's pretty much the best and the fastest video card in the $25 range possible, it's also dead quiet as it doesn't have a fan.
