I'm going for a big one this year, I'm gonna quit drinking. Been thinking about it for the last 6-8 months. Drinking beer has simply ingrained itself in my daily habit, typically drinking 4-7 beers each day. Cutting out all 36 or so beers a week should save me roughly 280,000 calories a year and about $2000. A few of my family members have had alcohol problems in the past. My dad whom I haven't spoken to in probably 8 years drinks beer in excess to the point he got in an altercation with his live in girlfriend and got arrested, time for me to wise up.
I'm also looking to lose a few pounds picked up during the holiday season. Financially I feel I'm doing pretty good, no CC dept, retirement contribution is at a decent level although I won't be retiring at 50 or anything. Also plan on doing a 7 day cruise with the family.
