What CD-R packet/UDF writing software to use w/ Nero?

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I need to back up small miscellaneous files every couple of days to CD-R. I use to use Adaptec/Roxio Direct CD which worked fine, even though Direct CD kind of takes over your computer. The problem is, I just got a new CD-burner which came with Nero. I like Nero, but it can't do packet/UDF writing. They included InCD for the packet writing, but that only works for CD-RW, not CD-R. I hear if you have Nero and Direct CD on the same system you're asking for probs.

Any suggestion on what software to use to do packet/UDF writing to CD-R would be great.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't want to use a CD-RW. I want to use CD-R since they're less expensive and I already have a ton of them.

You can't... in order to use packet writing software you must format the disk first... therefore you would be burning the CDR and not be able to use it again... that is why you must use re-writeable disk's. As for Nero's "IN CD" I have found it to be far better than the "Direct CD" program that comes with Easy CD creator. Faster formating for one.... and you are right to say that "Direct CD" seems to mess with you PC a bit... you have to disable both "IN CD" and "Direct CD" on start up or they become a bit of a pain in the ass if you don't use them that often. Good to have though.

I wouldn't even reconsider installing Easy CD creator on my PC ever again... it has major compatability problems with most new CDR/RW's and even a few CDRom's. I don't like it!

Thanks again for your help. However, I still don't see why I can't find something to use with CD-R's just like Direct CD. Direct CD lets me do incremental backup's, adding files until the disc is full, then I just close it out to ISO 9660 format so it can be read on any CD-ROM. Direct CD did the job, I just don't want it on my system alongside Nero because it'll screw things up.
