What causes this graphics problem?

Ive been searching the web for over two hours with no luck.
I have this problem with select few video games displaying right. Far Cry being the latest example.

The Problem: Sometimes the transperancy of certain textures is bugged and it creates a blocky pattern.
I dont have screens for GTA but the trees and fences that your supposed to see throu had the same look to them. Also When I played the demo for Farcry the water looked perfect. The full version looks like this.

Full Screen pics.
Far Cry Water Errors 1
Far Cry Water Errors 2

Can anyone tell me where my graphics card is going wrong? I have all the latest drivers patches and direct x. Reinstalled them all too.

Also When I played the demo for Farcry the water looked perfect. The full version looks like this.

I saw stuff like in the demo with a 9700P playing FC, but not very often. I've never seen it in the retail. It seems like the problem went away when I moved to a 9700P. Is your case well ventilated? Does it happen after extended play, maybe an hour or so +?

No its always in effect in the retail version but it wasnt in either of the two demos they released. Ive tried multiple settings to no effect. No other textures are influenced exept for the water. I cant understand why the demo looked fine but the full version like this.

Yes. I have reinstalled the latest DX. And ive reinstalled my cards drivers.
I have an Nvidia GF4 Ti 4600. I know its not the latest and greatest card out there, but it has allready worked for this and other games. Is this just typical Ubisoft support and development? Or is there a way this can be fixed?

Yep. Ubi forums suck hard though. The only info you get there is constant kids FAQs and question dodging.

I brought it here cause the problem has been seen in GTA as well. So I figured it was native to Far Cry alone.

Oh btw, thanks for not ripping on my card. 😱

I find it you seem like you're about to act up if you aren't treated with respect, ubi tends to behave better.

Shucks dude, if I ripped on your card I'd be an ass! 😀

Card sounds good, I'd make sure you have good ventilation so heat can be ruled out. Then I'd set all to "low" and see if you still get the same trouble.

Farcry is pretty demanding but your card should play it well.

Post back with news when you get it.

I looks like a problem with alpha blending or bump mapping, I woudl suggest trying different drivers or maybe looking for in game incompatibilites

Make sure it is patched to 1.1, and/or try running Far Cry in OpenGL.

System.cfg

r_Driver [OpenGL, Direct3D9] - OpenGL=Use OpenGL renderer. Direct3D9=Use default DirectX9.0 renderer. Setting the renderer to OpenGL may resolve problems and improve performance for some users, especially Nvidia graphics card owners. If you experience problems revert back to the default Direct3D9 renderer for optimal stability/compatibility.

You can find more tweaks here.
