What causes this dvd problem?

Hey guys I have noticed this from time to time when listening and watching concert dvd's. It only seem to happen with these discs and not movie disc. The problem is that the facial movements of the singer lag behind the words they are singing. It only happens every once in a while and then it doesn't seem so apparent or even there. Is this a dvd player problem or the dvd itself? I have a standalone player but it is not a $300 or more unit either. Please lmk what you think. Thanks

Maybe it's how the concert was recorded.

EDIT: i.e. sound traveling slower than light

If it's just your music DVD's, then yeah, it was probably just dubbed bad. Sometimes they show concert footage from multiple concerts on those things, but obviously they can only use the sound from one, casuing a discrepency.

Maybe it's that momentary skip some DVDs have... not quite knowledgeable about this... but i believe its when the laser reads the other layer on dual layer DVDs... someone correct me if i'm wrong. 🙂

So this happens on various concert discs or only specific ones (or one)? And this never happens for your movie discs? If it happens only on specific, it might be the discs... 😱

Sounds plausable to me, kinda like how music videos look when they use the track off a CD midex w/ concert footage.

kehi, what DVD discs are you having issues w/, maybe someone here has the same ones and can check for you.

I had it with a dave matthews band disc (live at folsom) and also a sheryl crow(rockin' the globe live dvd)

seems odd, try pausing then just playing the DVD again.
