When I leave for work, my computer is on. When I come back, it is restarted at the log in screen.

I have no clue what the problem is. Any ideas?

Sniping on ebay has never been so frustrating!

Normally the culprit is defective RAM in your case. The Windows XP power settings make some strange things too, sometimes.

If its a BSOD its usually RAM, your video card driver or your CPU overclock. If its just a reboot without any BSOD its usually your mobo or PSU. Check your event log for BSODs, if there's nothing in event viewer its probably your PSU or mobo.

How do I check my event log?

Right click on My Computer

Select Manage

Use the +/- twisties to navigate from System Tools > Event Viewer

Click on Application and look for red X's or yellow !'s

Click on System and do the same.

You need to be logged in as Admin to get the MMC.
