Sometimes in XP RC1 and RC2 and sometimes even in Win2K, after I install a new driver (example-the new NVIDIA det.drivers) I get LAGGY MOUSE.

Don't know what laggy mouse is? It's when the mouse seems very slow and sluggish on the desktop, and also in games and other apps for that matter. Even if you set it to high pointer speed, it is still very slow.

This has even happened to me after a clean OS install.

What causes this? I use a intellimouse Explorer USB (converted to PS2 for KVM box).

Some people may say it is because of the optical mouse, but it has also happened to me with a regular PS2 intellimouse.

Any ideas or links?

I don't know what causes mouse-lag, but I have it consistently with the MS Explorer mouse I bought last December, and utterly no problems with the Explorer I bought the year before when they first came out. Still use the old one, but am considering returning the newer one. Would be interested in thoughts about the prospect of a return.

There's gotta be a logical reason for mouse lag.

Maybe I should just go buy a new logitech mouse.

<< have you tried to eliminate your kvm from the equation? >>

Yeah...it didn't work.

When I was running XP RC2, I got mouse lag after I installed the new NVIDIA drivers. I went in and di a driver rollback, and the lag went away. Weird....
