What causes condensation inside the refridgerator?

I bought the house almost a year ago and have never had this problem - there's so much excess condensation inside the fridge that it literally pools up. My old fridge had a switch to turn on 'in case of excess condensation'... but this one doesn't


What might cause this?
 
Moisture in the air?

Its also possible part of your fridge is getting colder than the rest, causing food items to evap because of room temp and then when the cool moistured air hits the cold part of your fridge condensation is formed.

 
hmm.. as far as food items, maybe.. It's been doing this for a week or two, and have gone through beer etc that would mix up where things are in the fridge.


The seal on the door appears to be fine - when you open it you can hear/feel the air rush in. Also, the fridge is only about 7 years old.
