Curious... e.g. On my 17" monitor if I turn it up to 1600x1200 it will "bounce." Totally different from refrash rate flicker...my 19" will do it as well.
The image on my parents old 15 inch will jump around if you hit it or shake the desk. I think it is just getting old though and the power connection or the tube does not function properly. don't understand why it does it when you turn up the resolution though.
One monitor is 3 years old and works like new (has done it for as long as I can remember - I never use it at 1600x1200 so it didn't matter), and the other is brand new (being exchanged for a different problem, though). I would guess the video card as I've used both monitors on the same type of cards (v2 & v3 cards), but I dunno...
<< yea, if the refresh rate/resolution combo on the video card doesn't match the ones supported by the monitor, then you'll have some trouble >>
Can anyone else confirm that? The v3 (voodoo3 for ya'll stoopid heads j/k) doesn't even have resolution specs for a 19", and only says it can do 1152x864 on a 17", even though I can "make" it do 1600x1200. Does this just mean I'm pushing the video card too hard and thus get this "bouncing/shaking" effect? I don't see how it should matter though when it supports a 21" at 1600x1200...
