What caused the spike in 2006? :o

On a somewhat related topic, I met a client today, had an email from someone at AT in the window, and he said, "Did it just say An And Tech?"

I said where, looked through, and said, "Was it this?" He said yeah, turned out he's read a book that Anand published about hardware for gaming and was very familiar with the site... it's a pretty small world, he's not too active on the forums, but he reads the main site a lot 😛
 
Hardware. Same with the spike in 05 with the new dual cores...and before that just the latest editions.

Seemed like the old site was more active than it was now, with a new mobo war coming out every week, but I don't even read it anymore so what do I know...

Agreed... maybe it's just a phase people go through or something, but I really stopped caring after a while about what came out - I haven't needed anything faster than what we had back in 2003/2004 and still find the releases from back then to be more than what I need on a desktop... I guess I'm not much of a gamer though so that's probably why.
