There is nothing unusual for people to destroy any fame and fortune they happen to achieve in life because they secretly feel like the worst in the world and have to keep testing and testing the world to recreate that positive feeling, all the while unaware the real intent is to prove themselves the failures they inwardly feel themselves to be. Typically this is done via some disgraceful sexual act they perform with some woman also sick, that wants to bask in fame by catching a big fish. Nothing like disgracing your wife and kids in front of the world to feel like a piece of shit. The intention unconsciously was always to get caught while the ego flatters itself in the delusion of personal power and cleverness offered by getting away with it.

Rudy was Trump's little mob man. Rudy pulled a lot of strings paving the way for businessman Donald Trump to get away with murder and to engage in some very shady dealings. Not only that, but Rudy also helped Trump avoid taxes and fees and regulations as Trump created his New York empire.
It's all about the money, it always is.
I would bet there is so much crooked shit between Trump and Giuliani, enough to send them both to prison for the rest of their lives. But as we know, rich people get way with pulling this crap all the time and no doubt Donald Trump threatens Rudy Giuliani on a daily basis to force Rudy to fall in line. After all, we know this is how Donald Trump operates. Threats, intimidation, name calling, and more threats. Giuliani wants none of that and so Giuliani falls in line doing whatever Trump demands, even when it makes Giuliani out to be a complete buffoon.
One could almost feel sorry for the guy, Giuliani, given Trump has Rudy by the balls. And it is said that Giuliani cleaned up New York of the filth and smut, but that old Giuliani was the short lived Giuliani. And if one looks closely, I'd bet Giuliani didn't have as much to do with cleaning up New York as Giuliani claims.
Oh.... add into the illusion 9/11, when Giuliani pretended to the world that he was a patriot. That was quite amusing.

He's caught some kind of viral infection from sucking on Trump's ass and so did millions of other Americans. It's just that Rudy's got a really severe case due to his desire to have his lips surgically attached that produced a side effect of having chronic methane poisoning and severe scabbing of his palms and knees.

I agree he isn't fundamentally different than he ever was, except for some obvious cognitive decline. He tried two GOP primaries for POTUS, couldn't get anywhere. His attachment to Trump is an attempt to stay politically relevant. I think he's also doing it for the money. Based on what we know Trump paid Cohen, Rudy probably got paid quite a bit for his shenanigans for Trump. Until Trump stiffed him for his stop the steal efforts. Sad.

While I am surprised there's someone unaware, maybe you just never gave it any thought. Or knew any seniors personally. Before and after their decline. It is not just your outside physical appearance that declines. The brain is also a physical object, comprised of living cells. Cells that collect ever increasing damage year by year. Until there is only a semblance of what used to be.
Some people luck out and accumulate less damage by certain ages. Others are far less lucky.
