Without a caddy or disconnecting the drive shaft.

My parents are loooking for another vehicle to pull behind the RV. My mo said that Jeeps and Saturns are made for it because of the way that the drive shaft is built/functions. Is this true? Are there any other makes/models?

Also what do you recommend?

Thank You
Brian

AFAIK, you always have to tow on the non-drive wheels unless you disconnect the driveshaft. Manual trannys are a little more tolerant of being towed on the drive wheels than autos, but I'm not sure I'd want to try either without checking with a mechanic first.

I sure have seen more Saturns being towed than any other brand.
Take a look here.

Naturally, check with the manufacturer about warranty coverage if you plan to tow any car.

Saturn can be towed and will not damage the Tran's. A lot of RV dealerships even get kickbacks from the Saturn place as this option was built into the Saturns to help sells. But go to Saturn.com or e-mail them, they should be able to fill you in.

Pretty much any vehicle that is 4 wheel drive will be able to be towed as long as it has a axle disconnect or a transfer case neutral.
