Actuary and financial analysis jump to mind as fields that actually use both math and econ. Maybe Operations Research too.

If you learn SAS there are a lot of jobs out there, but that's more statistics than math (are they split at your school?).

Other stuff you could do (from math perspective): teach high school, get a graduate degree and teach college, or go into information assurance (or cryptanalysis for the government - NSA is the biggest employer of mathematicians in the country).

Yeah, you should definitely look into the actuarial field. Get a summer internship if you are still in college. They make BIG bucks, and you have to know econ/business stuff in addition to math (this is the reason I didn't go into this field - I know nothing about econ stuff but am a math whiz). I had a summer actuarial internship at an insurance company almost 2 years ago now and made $15/hr working full-time...if they pay lowly interns that well, just imagine what a real actuary makes. :Q

how many times do i have to post this: you should do what you like doing.

with a BA in econ & a BS in math i got hired as a software developer (which i like doing).

speaking with a few people in the careers mentioned might be a good idea.

Bingo. Finance is a specialised brach of Econ. Any of the higher level Finance jobs require the ability to solve second order partial differential equations (you know, the kinds of equations usually reserved for physicists, chemists, and math majors). If you can do Econ and Math, you'll be well-equipped to excel in Finance.
