I love the matrix, i test drove that, the elantra doesn't have a lot of space in the back, not as much as the matrix aniway. The only thing i have against the pt cruiser is that it is an american make... Any suggestions?

Also, I heard from someone that the matrix gives nearly 40 miles a gallon. anybody know if this is true?

My wife and I got ~39mpg driving back home to Kansas this past summer in my Matrix. That was with the back loaded with luggage.

Edit: Might as well mention, it gets anywhere from 25 to 29mpg on pure in town driving. Depending on traffic and various conditions.

Are you trolling? I ask because those are all such incredibly lame cars. I don't think you are trolling, but if i was trying to think of a list of 3 girly cars I wouldn't want, they'd all top it.

You should hand in your man card for even considering the pt cruiser. I'd probably buy the matrix out of those 3, but I wouldn't buy it, given that other vehicles exist on the planet.

Mazda3 gets my vote. My young brother is going to get a Mazda 3 hatchback this summer.

PTCruiser = Teh UGLY
The Elantra doesn't seem a bad deal, but you're going to take a huge depreciation hit.

I would buy the Toyota Matrix out of all of those (Or the Pontiac Vibe, its the same car).

EDIT: You can also look into the Mazda3, a used Protege5, or a Scion TC too.

Damn man, talk about a rock and a hard place... and a really hard place.

And honestly, I'm not sure which car is which.

I'd look @ the used car market myself if $ is an issue.

All of these vehicles have the personality of a refrigerator/dishwasher.

If you're interested in high MPG, compact package & wagon versatility, find a used Jetta TDI wagon... At least it's got a bit of personality, TDI VW's aren't bad reliability wise, versatility of a wagon, diesel's economy, price should be reasonable since VW seems intent on misjudging the US market...
