What car did I see? (possibly the ugliest thing ever)

I've seen this car only maybe twice and both times, they were going in the opposite direction, so I couldn't get a good look at any brand markings.

- large sedan
- massively chunky/square-looking, like a hippo
- oversized criss-cross shiny rectangular grill
- styling was some sort of unholy mix between pimp/ghetto, and Cadillac-ish retiree looks
- one was white, the other was black

The only thing I'm sure of is that it wasn't the Dodge Caliber (the back end was completely different). Any ideas what that monstrosity I saw might have been?

 That is the first time since I've been here that I've gotten one of these random questions right!

Congrats...you deserve a Pontiac Aztec to go with that beer .

So, I'm still confused though. Were they trying to design a luxury car, and something went wrong and they ended up with the sedan equivalent of the Cadillac Escalade? Or is the design intentional?

Hmm, from that picture, it doesn't look too bad. It might have been as someone else suggested -- that what I saw was a pimped out version of it.

Gobadgrs had the Hemi version of the Charger, which drives like the 300C I presume and it made me happy to have been born. It was a sweet beast and sounded like a slice of heaven.

Oops, guess I got the Caliber confused with the Magnum.

So apparently I'm the only one who thinks the 300 looks odd ...

Those vehicles are so friggin' ugly. Out here in the DC area, everyone that owns one pimps the hell out of it with chrome on every possible user-replaceable part.

I just happen to be in NoVA :D. So more than likely, I did in fact see a pimped out one.

Just an observation, but I don't think I've ever seen one on the Beltway (yet), just around urban areas. The squarish design doesn't seem that well suited for doing 75+ mph on the curvier sections of the Beltway.

For real. I've forgotten what the OEM grille looks like.

Isn't one of the Scions a coupe? But yeah, the boxy ones aren't too appealing. Honda has one like that too, iirc. Not surprisingly, those boxes have atrocious gas mileage, especialy for a Japanese design.
