Taking a trip from FL to VT and back... don't want to put the miles on my prelude or squeeze 4 guys into it. I know there's a couple major rental agencies in FL that will rent to 21+, anyone know what they are? Thanks

They will but they'll charge you a lot more for the insurance. Call around and ask, they'll give you a quote with the higher insurance rates.

Also, stay out of VT. We don't want you.

Edit:

After thinking for a minute, how about buying a beater to use? Down in FL you gotta be able to find a car for $500 or so that'll make the trip, tax/title is cheap enough at that point, cheaper than renting at least. I rented a car when I was 22 for only a weekend, paid over $230 for it and it was local driving only. Pool your money into a junker and fix it up a bit, and you'll be all set, then just trash it when you get back to FL.

Most of the major car rental companies will let you rent a car but be prepared for an extra $25+ in fees for being under 25.

A lot will, and sometimes they won't even notice. DO NOT rent from U-Save.

You've been warned.

most major car rental companies will, they just put on an additional surchage (not a huge amount unless you'll be having the car for longer than a couple days)

It can be as low as nothing (Enterprise off airport in Kailua-Kona, HI) to $25 (most national chains in major markets).

I paid $20/day with underage fee for a Malibu through Priceline from Alamo and I am 22.

When I Was 23 I rented from enterprise when my car was in the shop getting Hail Damage repaired. My rate wasn't too bad, but I absolutely hated the car they rented to me. Perhaps you may want to check out enterprises webpage, and see what they have to offer. Just be prepared to rent a little puny car like a malibu with a crappy 4 cyl.
