What capacity PSU do I need?

Need a new PSU and I don't know how big I need. My system specs are as follows:

Intel Pentium 4 2.4B (C1) Not Overclocked
4x 256MB Crucial PC2700 DDR
LG 16x DVD-ROM
LG 52x CD-RW
VisionTek Xtasy GeForce 4 Ti4400
Western Digital 60GB ATA-100 HD
ASUS P4G8X Deluxe
Stock Intel Heatsink & Fan
Thermaltake 80mm SmartFan Chassis Fan


I think that's it for the high drain devices. Will I be ok with a 365W Enermax PSU? Is Antec really worth it? It will be about double the price for me here in Canada.

The Enermax would be an excellent choice for your P4..

One thing.. have you already bought this system? If not.. why would you wanna get 4 x 256 instead of 2 x 512?

I agree ... anything 350 or more should be fine as long as you dont get a real cheap 350 PSU.

I have had good luck with both Enermax and Antec and since the Enermax is 1/2 the price for you, go with it

Thanks for all your responses. I put all my stuff into the link GooGooCluster provided and at 100% Usage, It's around 379W. At 80% it drops to 303W. Since I'm already replacing an old PSU because it isn't big enough, I don't wanna have to go through the problem again. Is 365W still okay or should I make the jump to the next Enermax, which is 465W? At the store I'm buying this from, I have a little over 2 weeks to install it all and can return it for full refund if it doesn't work or if I simply don't like it. I had no idea the amount of RAM I had would be such a huge drain on the PSU.

P.S. Marvie, yeah, unfourtunately I bought the system back in February with 2 sticks of 256MB and then later when prices dropped decided to add another 512. Should've just bought 2x 512MB from the start. Oh well...

You'd better go with Antec TP or Fortron(sparkle)

I'm running a similar setup on an Antec PP-303X 300w and haven't experienced any issues. As long as it's a quality unit, 300w should be more than enough for you. If you want a bit of margin for error, by all means get a 350 or so, but you shouldn't look at it as a requirement.
