What can you put in a PCIe 1x slot?

I know you can put dial-up modems in there, but what else can you put in there? It seems like companies need to get more products to put in those things. Are there any sound cards that go in PCIe 1x?
 
RAID controllers and ethernet cards are available, amongst others. Not very widely available, mind you, but they're out there.
 
sata adaptors, usb extensions (extra usb ports)... just to add to the list. I would hope that creative or m-audio or SOMEONE will come out with a pci-e x1 or x4 sound card.
 
I have seen a TV-tuner in PCI-e 1x, although they are rare as most PCI-e things are. Although I dont understand why considering everyone who has bought a PC in the last 3 years probably has 1-2 open PCI-e 1x or 4x slots. Yet they are pointless so far.

I would love to see a PCIe 1x Wireless G card and/or sound card.

 
more like a X300, so i would say its like a Radeon 9550 or 9600 maybe. Im not sure what that is in Nvidia terms because i have never used nvidia
 
So I am not the only one that feels frustration in having this slot take up room on the mobo as it is not compatible with many expansion cards. Thanks for the replies

Better than my card. Radeon 9250. Naturally, it should be better due to it being pixel shader 3.0 compliant, along with GDDR2 memory and it having slightly better clocks. Before throwing these stupid questions and implied assumptions at people, actually do some research on what you're trying to laugh your ass off at.
