i know you can overclock your CPU and video card, but can you also over clock the hard disk, sound card, and/or a modem card (why? just asking). i have read somewhere that you can overclock the monitor, printer, mouse, etc... is this true?

i've been reading this forum for the past couple of days and just wanted to say that it is the best one around (hardocp is pretty kewl too).

also, how do you know if overclocking is for you? i mean i know of overclocking (general stuff) and the risks involved, but should i overclock my cpu (p3 700mhz)?

IS OCing for you? Well have you ever had a hobby that you had to go faster or have more powa!? Lets say RC racing, car stereo, HOTROD, fishing(boats). It all depends on what your want to OC for!
If your looking to OC to make your apps run 5x faster than they did before you OCed, then OCing is not for you. If you want to push the limit and get the last bit of performance from your computer just to be getting it, then hell yea...OC the $hit out of it.

As far as OCing your other components of your system it is done when you OC your computer. You see. When I over clock my celeron 600 to 900 mhz im going up 50% on the FBS(front side bus). Now if there were no dividers there for the pci and isa bridge i would be pushing them up 50% as well, but with the settings of the MB you can set it to divide by a different amount to go back to or near the original speed of the isa/pci bus. Its kinda hard to explain. You should check out overclockers.com to get a grasp of the idea of overclocking and how its done.

The explanation above is not really complete, but it might get you started.
