You may or may not guess who did this lovely DIY repair.

1. Washers, wtf?
2. Replacement bolt is
a. only zinc plated and thus...
b. is likely a grade 5, not grade 8 (or equivalent)
c. too small a diameter
d. wrong thread pitch, so torque spec (if they bothered at all) is totally wrong
3. Top bolt is not tight

Despite the washers... the top bolt made me cringe more. It looks like you could spin it with your fingers.

I forgot to add the best part of the story (came out later in a thread on another forum where I got this): the guy who did it was a paid auto tech, and it was his girlfriend's car. He has since been fired for gross negligence and theft.

grade 5 seems optimistic, sure it's not a grade 2 home depot bolt? :awe:

Or the best: an un-graded bolt! What I like to call "chinese gray metal" :D

you've never seen suspension balance weights before?

I was thinking more along the lines of variable alignment and quick strut change. The OP just doesn't understand that this guy was ahead of his time.

Exactly, its just a new age eccentric; good tire wear when you're cruising but moar negative camber when its loaded. This guy should patent.
