Just for boredom, I and some of my friends tried with different methods of scanning face pictures with usual flatbed scanner. Results are avalible here. Note that no after-scanning editing (photoshopping) is involved Site may be little slow.

It's all very simple, think a bit how scanner arm moves and what you have to do for particular kind of deformation or try out yourself For example, "wide" pictures like this are made by rolling your face from one side to another on scanner arm moving direction during the scan
I wanted to see how much hair was in my butt crack, so I tried to sit on my scanner and scan it, but then my scanner broke. I guess I should file that under "things I *CAN'T* do with my scanner."
