The only thing a BA is good for is getting into grad school to get a better degree or wipin' yer butt, unless you have a world of experience and went back to school as an adult, no one wants a BA, BS is the way to go.

--BA Soc. Science 97 BA History 98... Job=32500, went back to get my JD, will finish in 2 mos. BA = nomoney JD = momoney

religion and sex are very similar in that they are to be experienced a LOT more than studied. However, if you feel the motivation to do so, what are you worried about money for? something wrong with the mixing career and religion, imho. UNLESS of course you feel the calling but if that is so then you are not thinking money and IF you are thinking money then you are NOT thinking religion. you know " cant worship God and mammon, etc."( if you dont know the rest of this you are even close to having done any "religious" learning. I think.

A degree in religion isn't something you get unless you feel you have a calling for it. What it lets you do is become a youth pastor and perhaps eventually a pastor or such. Otherwise it doesn't give you a whole lot. There's not a lot of money, so if you really want to do it I'd suggest getting a dual degree in economics or something as well.

Become a priest??? Why else would you study so much religion. You may as well bone up on some philosophy and become a theologian or something. You can be the next St. Thomas Aquinas. Fat chance though.

I guess that depends on what you want to do with your life. Preachers actually don't make a bad living, if my dad's preacher is any example. He only makes around 30k a year, but the church buys him a car every year or so (We don't want those funerals held up by a preacher stranded on the side of the road now, do we?), and since he's been there for more than 5 years, the house they bought him is his outright. Not rich, but not too shabby either. Plus, working two days a week can't be all bad.

You got a degree in Religion? LOL

No seriously, or are you just considering it? I don't think priests would get degrees in religion because they don't need to be taught because god loves them or helps them cheat on their tests for them or whatever bs they wanna make up.

You could start your own religion - like Scientology for instance. You could make it as crazy as possible. For instance, make people sign billion year contracts with you. Seriously, running your own cult could be work, but imagine all the power - and all the wives you could have. Yeah baby!

glen said it right.

Read my thread on "Life Decisions" - here.

I'm going to declare Asian Studies and History double major. You got the degree for further education after high school. Your career may or may not be related to your degree. What matters the most is the DISCIPLINE you gained from four years of study.
