How much math does a degree in chemistry involve?
Chemical engineering has very, very little in common with a chemistry degree. Sure, chem eng's take general, organic, and physical chemistry, but the rest of the curriculum is completely distinct. The end product: the chem eng knows enough chemistry to know what chemists are talking about to apply it to processes. Chemical engineering is a lot harder (no offense to any chemists here 😛) and is often considered the hardest major around because of the combination of math, physics, chemistry, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, process control, and its own list of subjects that no other major even considers.Originally posted by: OulOat
According to a recent CNN (I believe) article, BS Chem. Engineer grads get paid the highest on average. Even higher than us CS and EE guys.
