Looking at everything on the table what can you guys actually agree to?

What should be done is a given;

- Get a handle on the deficit somehow.
- Reform Healthcare

What I am asking specifically is what in the past 4 years has either party agreed too, or should agree to fairly easily?

It is well known Republicans have blocked everything so can the same be said for a Romney Administration? It's simply not looking good for future generations Imo.

This started as a promising opening post, then you railroaded it by taking a stab at the Republicans.

It doesn't matter which side is in control, the other side will block everything.

Drug legalization, I'd wager, is coming into greater agreement between them.

Reform of the political system. Taking the money out of politics. Electoral reform. I'm not saying they actually DO agree on this. Most conservatives seemed to support Citizens United. However, I think this is at least the kind of issue that the two *should* be cooperating on.

It is a true statement, these last few years have been deadlock. Neither Clinton or Bush had the same sort of hostility.

My question is will the tides be turned if Romney were to get elected and if so what does it make us when we have to rely on Executive Orders?

Patriot Act
TSA

Americans need to be raped and pillaged, apparently. This has bipartisan support.

That if a woman screws multiple abusive crazy men and gets pregnant she should be able to have the child, if she wants, even if she has no means of supporting the child.

All it takes are facts to railroad a post for conservatives. You state as if it were fact that Democrats will block Romney to the degree that Republicans have blocked Obama, but all he did was say half of what you did, that it is well known, as it obviously is to you, that Republicans have blocked Obama, but leave open only as a likelihood that Democrats would do the same to Romney. So given that you believe that no compromise will come from either side, how was there ever any promise in the first part of his post?
------------

OP, new scientific evidence points to the fact that the conservative mind defines what is moral in a number of more dimensions than liberals do, one of them placing high value on loyalty. Ordinarily, one thinks of loyalty as a good thing. It helps one team succeed against another, it fosters the competitive advantage of any team a conservative is on. Unfortunately, conservatives are on the conservative team when there's not much in the way of external threat to the nation.

If we have an external enemy, conservatives expand their concept of who is on the team to fellow citizens of the US, but if not they team up to destroy liberals, the folk who can reason and think dispassionately.

In short, conservatives have become insane because they have made the enemy a majority of the country and they have are becoming reviled for it. This too is sad, because another feature of the conservative mind is that when evidence of its flight into an altered view of reality is given, the conservative mind digs in and doubles down on the delusion.

And so we have reached the point where conservative delusion has become a bigger danger than the good value of loyalty and the fierce team spirit they show for their team is beginning to destroy the nation. Their phobic demonization of the other side in the name of team competitiveness is now working against the team they think they represent. This is why we hear them speak of themselves as the real Americans, the real Christians, etc. and the foreign evil of liberals like Obama. "He is not one of us" in their delusional minds, except that he is one of us and a much better example of what one of us really is.

So the only answer to this that I can see is for Liberals to step up to the plate and take the country away from these fanatics before they completely destroy us. The American people have got to turn on them with disgust and throw them out of office. The notion of team loyalty that turns on and destroys the fans of the sport itself must be identified for what they are, hideous antiAmerican players. These are a group of folk who have taken a part of what is normally called a virtue and turned it into an evil and they refuse to see it. They have become contemptible and need to be made to feel it. Utter contempt is the wages of those who refuse to feel any shame.

Christ almight you really need to learn to sing some different tunes.

The answer to 2 + 2 is not "unwed mothers."

But that's not true, the Democrats basically gave Bush everything he wanted after 9-11.

The Democrats also passed the 90's Republican healthcare plan (Romneycare) and then all of a sudden the same people that a few years ago supported the plan began believing it was unconstitutional.

I love Lincoln, TR, Eisenhower was a good president, Heck I have a large amount of Respect for Bush the Elder but in recent times there is only one party that actively opposes compromise.

This is a complete lie. Democrats worked with George Bush.

YOUR side will block everything a democrat tries to do to fix the country however. YOUR side is the treasonous side that wants the country to fail while a Democrat is in office. Let Obama pass the Jobs bill you jackasses and think about the country for once instead of just getting back into power.

Yeah the jobs bill. If only we spent another 500 billion we will magically pull ourselves out of this mess. Use your fucking brain for once and realize spending money and getting little return isnt the way to get things accomplished.
