We just bought a new house, and suddenly a month into living in it, the kitchen sink suddenly started leaking so I'm wondering what could be causing it.

replace the.. i forget the proper name.. rubber bushing-like things, they get hard and leak eventually. should only cost a buck or two and a few minutes work (remember to shut off the water first.. [doh!])

Maybe crap in the lines got loose and wedged between the seal and seat. You might try disassembling it, cleaning it, and put it back together. Might be all you need. Otherwise, the seals cost only a few bucks.

Here's a step by step.

I think he means O-rings. this is the first logical step. Anything else and it's time to dust off the "Time How to fix it" books.
