What can me, an American citizen, do to help?

I am sad, shocked and angered at this attack.

That said, however, I really want to help in one way or another with anything

I am 14., so I cannot donate blood, nor go to New York and help with the rescue mission.

What can I do?

pray. and explain everything to your brothers and sisters that you may have that are younger than yourself. Talk to your friends and try and spread the true facts amoungst yourselves instead of spreading untrue and biased facts raising anger.

get some friends together and come up with an idea to raise some money for your red cross. Or help get a local blodd drive organized.

Steal credit cards & max them out on Amazon's donation page...

Just kidding about the stealing part, but donating money would be a good option.

The mayor of NY (no way in hell I'm attempting to spell his name) said they have more volunteers than they need, & you're not old enough to give blood.

But you can give money.

I am driving to NYC tonight from Providence(two hour ride) to see if there is anything I can do.I feel helpless here and am going anyhow because there are people who need to get to NYC because of the plane thing. If I end up just getting in the way i'll just leave, because I am going anyhow. Cannot hurt to see if there is anything I can do.

Oh,by the way,i'm a cab driver and that is what i'm talking about. I have scheduled fares going to NYC tonight. Its normally a $500 fare but i'm giving them a deal, almost at cost.

Give anything that you can, and prevent the spreading the rumors that plague our society.

another thing you can do is change your avatar icon to represent this nation and what has happened.

Continue on as you might otherwise. Donate as you can; assist in calls for volunteers where you think you might be able to help. Our leaders have enough to do now, and our going about our way quietly not only relieves our leaders from being distracted but also denies the terrorists what they want: terror, and a change in our ways.

But mostly, remember this time. Never forget it. As you grow older and assume the challenge of running society, reflect back on what you're seeing and feeling today, and let that be a guide to your actions in the future when you're voting for your government.

probably the best thing to do is donate money if you're not in the ny area and give blood, i live near the city and was talking to my cousin who lives in queens and he went to volunteer but there is way too many people and he had to wait like 5 hours and then he left, some hospitals in the city are starting to turn away blood doners too because they are full

Anything else?

Sounds to me like you already got enough suggestions to keep you busy for a while. :)
