wrong forum, but i'll answer anyway.

it's probably spyware that automatically changes your registry. go to lavasoftusa.com and download ad-aware.

It's probably an ActiveX control you got from a website. If you go to a website and a window pops up asking you if it's okay to install some ActiveX control you've never heard of on your computer, always click No.

Yes SpyBot has a feature to keep some things from being modificated (my word, not a dis-spelling.) I dig Spybot!
