What can I hook up to this stereo? *PIC INCLUDED*

the red and white coax connectors are Left and Right audio...

however under digital optical cable(fiber) and digital cable (coax) the signal is the same.. even if you use an audio cable to send the data thru ( havent seen a diff as yet).

You can put tape on teh tape ones, the bandpass will only sound great with a tape, dont put anything else there. Video 1 and 2 are probably full bandwidth.

thx! 🙂

I don't think I agree with the good guy on this one..

You can hook up 6 analog sources, 3 of which have both inputs and outputs.

Most likely, they are all 100% identical in performance, they just have different names.

The only thing that confuses me is the "mode selector" switch on the receiver, I don't know what that would be for. AHA, wait, I take it back. The mode selector switch must be related to the "MD Digital" input. It basically means that if you use "Video 2" do you want to use the analog in on the receiver, or the digital in on th MD recorder. Something like a satellite system or DVD player would have that - but the only thing this would be good for would be to record the audio from a dvd to a MD??

This must be some sort of quasi-rack system from Sony, right? That's a strange configuration, looks like they were trying to push MD use over anything else... sucks that the receiver (apparently) doesn't have any digital inputs/outputs, but the MD deck obviously does.

Yep, it's a sony. I wasn't too sure about the digital input but I think you're right, only the MD deck has digital input. So no chance of hooking up any digital input, just as I thought. Crap, that pisses me somehow off... Maybe I can do something to loop the sound thru the MD to let my DVD player use the digital in of the MD deck somehow? Oh well, I might end up buying myself a new receiver anyway, I still can keep the tuner, CD and MD deck though 🙂

Thanks for your input flot!
