I was recently chosen to build/get a computer for my fiance's family. Currently the have a Packard Bell 75mHz. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the best deal for the money. I'm looking for something in the range of a 700 Duron with 10 or more gigs, decent video 16/32 megs for low end games and a midtower case, NO baby ATX. Can anybody post some good links or what I should be able to expect for $300.

Thanks much.

I would do this:

Shuttle AK31 Rev 3.....................................$80
CardExpert GF2 MX 64MB.........................$70
ENLIGHT EN-72370X3C4 MED Case....$34
Duron 900Mhz.............................................$40
Crucial 128MB PC2100.............................$27
Cooler Master DP5-6H11..........................$7
---------------------------------------
Total: $271

That should give you the ability to upgrade to the faster Palomino's and possibly Thoroughbreds when they come out. You can always add more RAM as you get the cash. There should be enough money left for a good 10-15GB HDD from Ebay. You could go cheaper on the video card and mobo, but you'll loose your upgrade options if you do. Good luck!
