What can I get a civic for now?

I know the DX MSRP is around $12,700. Are there any rebates Honda is giving or anything...?

Yeh... on certain models, I think they're dong their 3.9% for 36 mnth, 4.9% for 48 month, 5.9% for 60 month financing. But, this may not be on all models in all areas.

I saw it in Austin, but I didnt' see it on Honda's web site. Guess it depends on supply/demand in your area.

With my last three Honda products (1998 Acura CL and 1998 Acura Integra and 1999 Honda Civic EX), you just have to go to the dealer an HAGGLE. Nowadays it should NOT be too hard... car sales way down

You can also use http://www.autobytel.com, and get an online quote. What they'll do is contact a dealer near you, and basically that dealer will call/email you with their "absolute" lowest price. IT is usually 2-3% over invoice... and they give you a good price because you didn't sit in their showroom and waste their time haggling prices.. YOu can go test drive stuff... for sure...

I'm seriously considering a daewoo, but when it comes down to it a civic is so much better and although the daewoo/kias aren't bad for not a heck of a lot more money I'd rather have a civic.

just email a bunch of local dealers, tell them you'll give them $300 over invoice. most will agree with no hassle, reason being no negotiations involved, and i guess they assume you know something about pricing and whatnot. if you really want you could probly get it down to invoice price, but that'd require going in, and haggling, being its the end of the year, and they need to clear out casrs for the 2002 model year, good luck.

So I can really do this sort of thing? I know a lot of dealers seem to be asking up to 10% over invoice. Is it entirely reasonable to pay only a couple % and they'll be game?

Yup... on my civic I was quoted about 3-4% over invoice... but that is back when the car sales were on fire. Honda is better off than most these days...

GM just announed **** 0% ****** financing for up to 60 months... even on Saturns and Saabs. Can you believe that?? That just shows that they ain't selling anything!!!!!!! but, if you're in the market for a GM... then you could clean house on this deal.

Sadly due to a nonexistent credit history in the US I don't think I'd be cleared to take part in such a deal
