I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice as to what SOLID foods i should eat while sick to get better or to just not regress. I guess these are allergies, but not really, i'm not allergic to anything, I just have a wicked sinus infection and wednsday night I was weak and had cold chills. I drank a bunch of vitamin C enriched tropicana OJ, ginger ale, and had a big dinner of soup and pasta. After a good long night of sleep, i felt fine yesterday, with just a bit of the sinus infection going on.

Well, i didn't take such good care of myself yesterday, and I am regressing today. I still drank lots of fluids and ginger ale, but chinese for lunch and extra cheesy pizza for dinner while hanging with friends wrought havoc on my stomach, and today i feel like crap. I started the day off right, i ate my oats, and just drank 1 gallon of water in 2 hours (my bladder is gonna hate me) I also brought in cans of giner ale, and my lunch of an apple and PBJ.

I want to make a 3 hour drive to boston tommorw to see some friends and I need to get healthy fast. I know to drink plenty of fluids, but what are the best solids to eat? vegetables? carbs? The reason I ate tons of pasta before is cuz i thought the carbs would give my body the energy to fight this, but i must admidt i don't really know.

iz dere a docta in du house?
or a nutritionist?

Drink only water and lots of it.

Eat something healthy, homeade vegetable soup / etc.

Edit: I'm not a nutrisionist or anything. Also, Carbs won't give you lots of energy because they are the hardest for your body to break down and utilize which is why runners eat them, because they need an energy source that will last a marathon. If you are sick, you probably arn't moving very far, so carbs arn't going to give you some magic boost of energy and heal you. I'm not saying stay away from carbs, but I wouldn't pound them down in hopes of something magical happening. In my opinion, I'd eat small meals and stick to liquids.
