i have been chasing a very small grey mouse through my apartment for a couple days and now and this morning i finally went out and bought a bunch of live cage traps. i have a soft spot for the mouse because once it got up on my desk and looked right at me and i just let it run away :) the mouse *JUST* ran into one as my cat started chasing the mouse. now that i have the mouse, what do i do with it? i am not going to kill it and i can not keep it as a pet. do i just take the thing into the woods and let it go or should i bring it to a field or what? what do wild mice like???

wild mice like food... give it cheeseburgers for a few years, then let it out in the wild

Take it outside & let it go.

Although, my brother did make a pretty good pet out of chipmunk once. It was all good & well until it got loose & he stepped on it. :( He felt so bad about it, he held it as blood ran out it's nose & ears until it died.

:(

But it made a very cool pet, it was quite tame for having been caught in a live trap.

heh, my friend used to feed his snake live rats all the time, great way to entertain a crowd. i would have just bought a bunch of snap traps and killed the thing a long time ago if the mouse had no gotten up on my desk. once it was sitting right there in front of me, i did not have the heart to just drop a book on it or anything ;)

when i was getting the mail at lunch a raccoon jumped out of the dumpster and ran into the woods. now THAT would make a cool pet. unless it was rabid, or clawed my eyes out.

I was hoping someone would know what I was talking about.

That's a smart mouse, Del, he's like a circus mouse. <- that mister jingles?

Please don't think I completely endorse this but a friend while I was in High School owned a Motorcycle repair shop out in the boonies. He had tons of mice as he was in the middle of a field and kept his garage door open most of the time. He rigged an attachement to his air compressor that would hold a mouse and fit tight into a funnel. He would then give the mice a free ride back out into the field, several hundred feet out into the field.

throw it as high up in the air as you can and try to catch it. Repeat until you're sure the mouse will never come near your apartment again.
