I just picked up 6 new in the static bag 9.1 gig Quantum SCSI Hds that were actually Compaq evaluation units that were never opened. I don't really know what to do with these. I have 3 external SCSI enclosures (2 single drives and 1 4 drive) out in the garage that came from SUN so I guess I can take out the 2 gigs in them and use the enclosures. I don't even have a damn SCSI card to test these out. They are 7200 PRM drives.....are they worth messing with or should I just chuck em in the trash? If they can be put to good use I will see if I can find someone to grab an old SCSI adapter from.
Any suggestions? I have never used SCSI drives before and got them to play with but it seems like a lot of trouble for a whopping 54 gigs of space. Maybe I could sell them or trade them for something I could actually use. Does anyone know what these might be worth? How about the value of the external enclosures with PSs?.....I think the 4 drive actually has 2 9 gig drives and a 2 gig, while the two single drive enclosures have 2 gig drives in them.
I need to get over this compulsion to bring equipment others are tossing in the trash home with me. I am running out of space and how many comps does one person need? I think I have a sickness, I just can't let people throw working equipment away!
