Is it against the TOS to run a server?

Hehe, bolded parts make this ideal for a media PC.

My vote is for a media/emulation center. Load it up with SNES, NES, Genesys, etc. Roms, (only for games you actually own, of course) pick up a Kiky-X Series and a RetroCON, then install all your codecs and players. You could either invest in some kind of remote control for your laptop (no clue where to look) or a wireless trackball/keyboard of one variety or the other. Then you'd be set.

EDIT: Or you could get JoyMouse and set it up for your game controller.

I'm assuming the existing one is better than the new one would be?

In that case, eBay. Someone else would be happy to set up a media center with it. Like me. :p

Well I'd like to, but I have no skill in estimating the price of things (I'm either way too high or way too low) and, more importantly, no money after buying the books I need for classes this semester. I'd like to be able to pay my rent. I'd like to though, I really would.

Though if you have a line on a good quality VGA->TV converter for cheap, lemme know.

eBay dude, eBay. Someone else will want to do something with it, and you can spend the cash on something else... like another computer. ;)
