What can I do to make a lip blister go away?

I just got one yesterday :( It's not the first time I've gotten it but I haven't had one in many years. It shows up when I'm tired or sleep-deprived; my mom and sister get the same thing. I never used to treat it; they just went away after a couple weeks, but I heard there is something you can use to make them go away faster. Any ideas?

Abreva works really well for me, but it's damn expensive, and you should really start applying it when you first feel it coming on.

Hey K. :) I use Abreva on coldsores and it's fantastic. Everything else on the market to treat them seems to be a local anasthetic which doesn't actually serve any purpose other than to dull the pain.

abreva is the best otc remedy and you do have to use it as soon as you feel that 'tingle' of an impending breakout. the only other thing that i know of that works is valtrex but thats prescription.

salt? Usually if I get cold sores/blisters and it annoys me I put on a bit of salt on the sore. You feel intense pain right afterwards but it usually closes up the sore/numbs the annoying pain.

lip blister = cold sore = herpes

one of my coworkers has a pretty bad case that gets her like a few times a year. She's pretty self-conscious about it, I think she uses Abreva and is happy with the results.

Cold sores are a turn-on for me. I lap that pus up hardcore.
