What can I do to change the world?

After seeing "Pay it Forward", it made me realize that the world indeed expects nothing out of me. I'm wasting each breath caring about myself, while as a human being I could actually, possibly, do something.

Now I'm somewhat serious here, and if it's a practical and doable idea I may actually own up on it, especially if I could get some people as serious as I am.

I'd love to hear suggestions..

I'm in the same boat as you GoldenBear, first I think you should bring your level of understanding up to a certain level with which you will be able to put others ahead of your self.

GB, you must first decide what is important to you. It might be the environment, social work, being famous or making a lot of money. If it does not inspire some passion in you then you will not accomplish anything.

No one on this board can decide what that is, only you can.

Once you have decided what you want to do I'm sure that others on this board that have similar interest will be able to help you achieve your goals.

Yes, those are some wise words..but I really have no idea where to start.

Basically, what I want to do is, if I were to die after doing this, people, including myself would be, &quot;What an accomplished person&quot;. In other words I want to leave a mark on this world, in one way or another (positively of course).

Doesn't work that way. You are looking forward to the acknowledgement of your actions when you have no idea what you want to do. That is a guaranteed way to insure failure.

Think of people that have done what you want to achieve. How many of them do you believe did it for the fame?

Find something you are good at or are at least passionate about and enjoy it, do it well, if fame comes then that is great, if it doesn?t then you have still not wasted your life.
