What can i do, teacher lost my homeworks. So depressing.

This is my last semester in college, I am set to graduate. I am taking Cal 3 right now, and things are just not looking good. I am not at all good with math, I just make it through with low grades. I made a 58 on the first exam and a 34 on the second one. I went and talked to the teacher about this. He is telling me that I am not doing very good because I am not doing my homework. I know I have only missed one homework. He shows me the grade sheet. I am missing 3/4 homeworks. I did all the other ones, infact that is how I prepare for the exams, by doing the homeworks. He says he has no record of them. But get this, the one homework I did miss, he has a grade for that one. What am I to do?

The teacher told me that I need to make 80's on all my future homeworks, labs and tests in order to get a 70, which is passing. But he did say "But in my years of experience, I have never seen that happen, and you will most likely flunk".

There is hope though. My school will overlook one D in the final semester, but that is just an unofficial thing, depends on the department advisor's whim.

I am so depressed right now.

Boy you're in a tough spot. If one of my students came to my with this, it would be very unlikely, as I post all grades, including homework, weekly. I would have another talk with him and ask if you could do some extra credit or something.

And how do you suppose I will make him belive that I did turn in my homeworks but they got lost? If my test grades were high, he would have probably believed me. I blame it all on GTA: VC. Stupid game. I will play the hell out of you.

I had a problem like that except it was for a CS class... my professor lost my project :|

Luckily I was able to go on the network and reprint the script file, which included the date it was made, so he let me turn it in again because it had been finished before the due date.

I wish you luck, I don't know what you can do besides try to convince him you would be stupid to not do homework your last semester in college.

strap yourself to the library.....no..chain urself to the library..bring ur sleeping bag, 100 red bulls, toothbrush, toothpaste....and live there for a week....u'll ace everything in that class from now on for sures if you do this!!!

i guesss u really can't do much about the hw's....just study ur arse off like insane like crazy like a fvcking madman!

well, good rucks dude!

Don't you have scratch paper you can show him? Ask other students to check and see if he is missing their h/w as well. If more than one student is missing h/w, then it becomes a problem for him. Talk to him again and ask him to look around his office, emphasize that you would like to graduate, and you have been doing your h/w. Talk to the department chair if you can not resolve this, this is a crap situation - you should be able to graduate.

ah, I had a friend with the same experience, he was taking chemistry 1 and took the first test, he was there because I saw him there while taking the exam. Well after the test grades were passed back, he didn't get his and went to talk to the professor. The professor said they couldn't find his test, so the professor said "I have no proof you took the exam, so you probably missed it and you'll have to get a zero". Even though he had me as a witness, the professor said it wasn't enough. Well my friend didn't know the policies about dropping a class (this was freshman year) so he ended up getting a F in the course since there were only two test and a final.

Not end of story yet. He ended up taking the course again with the same professor. He knew the material and when he took the first test, they said he got a 76. He then went to the chemistry office building and asked to take a look at his exam, but they couldn't find it. After a while they finally did find it, and he asked the secretary to re-grade the test. After re-grading it, he got a 92, but he said to re-grade it again, so they did, and he ended up getting a 96.

Well by the looks of how that teacher grades, you need to stop doing homework so you can get credit for it.

lol

is it to late for u to drop the class and retake next semester. I know that it will be kind of waist of time but if u can drop it i would as it seems u will fail it anyway

just a byproduct of massive education.....state schools are like massive assembly lines......we're labelled a number....taught in the masses....we create the statistics of the classes...and graduate...fresh off the assembly line, for companies to buy us..

look at it this way, you're set to graduate very soon.. much better than where i'm at.. completely lost 3yrs into college.. what a big freakin waste of time and money.

What happened? Didn't do too well in school or something? Think of it this way. You have an opportunity to start all over again and do it right this time. I can't, I am stuck with a 2.41 GPA.

It looks like he just recorded someone else's scores as yours for the homework. If you said you did 3/4 and he says you did 1/4, can't you just show him the ones you did? You got them back right?

haven't really thought about it that way, you're right though.

if you get handed back assignments, just bring them in, he prolly has you crossed with a another student. If not, he should have them...all you need is one homework assignment to show him out of that 3/4
